Following Tuesday’s hailstorm, Mayor Mark Actis posted on Facebook that “storm chasers,” unlicensed contractors, were going door-to-door in Earlville and soliciting repair work. If you are solicited, “Don’t get scammed, please call the police non-emergency number 815-538-4200 and report it,” the mayor posted.
The mayor also said that city crews will be around to pick up leaves, and that homeowners should rake them to the curb. He said the cleanup will take time, and he urged residents to be patient.
